A Cedar Rapids man was taken into custody after displaying handgun during a traffic stop

BENTON COUNTY, Iowa – A Cedar Rapids man was taken into custody after a lengthy standoff with officers over the weekend. Marc Leconte, 56, was arrested Saturday evening after displaying a handgun in front of Benton County deputies during a traffic stop. Authorities were called to Highway 30 near Atkins for the report of an erratic driver. They arrived there at around 8:30 p.m. and found Leconte driving a gray Kia Telluride. That’s when officers tried to pull over Leconte.
