Peak heat index values are expected to range between 100 to 105 degrees Fahrenheit. The high temperatures and humidity levels pose significant health risks, such as heat exhaustion or heat stroke. Residents are advised to stay hydrated, remain in air-conditioned environments, and avoid strenuous outdoor activities during peak heat hours.

Flood Watch: A Flood Watch is in place until 10 AM CDT this morning. This warning covers areas including Rock Island, Davenport, and Iowa City. The region is experiencing strong thunderstorms with heavy rainfall, potentially leading to flash flooding. Rainfall rates could reach as high as three to five inches in some areas, which may cause rivers, creeks, and streams to overflow, particularly in low-lying and flood-prone locations.
