Salvation Army debuts new equipment to serve community

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Salvation Army of Cedar Rapids held a ribbon cutting on Friday for their new EDS truck that will help the agency respond to local disasters including house fires. The Corps will debut the new vehicle at the Cedar Rapids Downtown Farmer’s Market Saturday morning. The Salvation Army helps provide supplies and aid to families displaced by personal disaster. The faith-based group has been operating in eastern Iowa for decades and is best known for its bell-ringing campaign during the holiday season.
