An Iowa City man is facing charges after an incident at the Johnson County Courthouse. July 31st, the Johnson County Joint Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call just after 10p.m. from an anonymous individual reporting suspicious items outside of the Courthouse in Iowa City. The caller told authorities that the items were destructive and law enforcement needed to retrieve them. When authorities arrived on scene, they located the objects in question on the exterior of the building and closed off the area to traffic for several hours. The Johnson County Metro Bomb Team removed the items and discovered they were a stack of books.
