MARION, Iowa – The City of Marion and Monarch Research are teaming up to create the next community-wide tree planting program, to add more greenery back into the city. This new Planting Forward Program aims to not only reforest Marion after losing thousands of trees in the 2020 derecho but also to add trees to areas along streets and sidewalks that were bare to begin with.
