IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) – Roughly 17 veterans die from suicide every day, that’s according to the Iowa City VA Hospital’s Suicide Prevention Team. According to a 2021 report shared by the Iowa City VA Hospital veterans are 72% more likely to commit suicide than civilians. As part of suicide prevention month, the V-A is hoping to educate people on how to help those who are struggling.
