The Iowa Hawkeyes women’s basketball team was back in action on Sunday as they took on the Virginia Tech Hokies at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, NC. And there were a couple of familiar faces that pulled up to watch the game.
Gabbie Marshall and Las Vegas Aces guard Kate Martin, who both played for Iowa alongside Caitlin Clark, joined the Hawkeyes on their East Coast trip to support their former team.
The two former college stars were notably wearing similar black t-shirts, which contained the same colored lettering and font. However, the message on each of their outfits was different.
Martin was wearing a shirt that read, “If Krysty is fighting, we all fight,” in support of Krysty Bujakowska , a young Iowa fan who battled with osteosarcoma. Meanwhile, Martin rocked a top that read, “Jada: Hype Girl,” supporting her former Iowa teammate Jada Gyamfi, who is still with the team.
Basketball fans loved that Martin and Marshall reunited at the second Iowa game of the season, taking to social media to leave their thoughts.
