There has been a lot of talk lately of the United States expanding its territory. From purchasing the Panama Canal to making Canada the 51st state. And don’t even get me started on Greenland. But why should the United States get to have all the fun? The state of Iowa should look to expand, and one Iowa lawmaker wants to look to the north.
An Iowa lawmaker is proposing that the state of Iowa expand, by purchasing part of the state of Minnesota. Which part? CBS2 reports that Republican lawmaker Mike Bousselot of Ankeny says that he just wants the bottom nine counties of Minnesota. And if you think this is some sort of joke, Bousselot stated that he intends to introduce a bill to purchase those counties in the 2025 Land Investment Expo.
According to the Des Moines Register, Bousselot posted on social media that he wants to “Make Minnesota Iowa Again!” He went on to state that new Iowans would have “lower income, sales, business taxes. A more farm-friendly state. And a better-managed state.”…
