Cold Weather Advisory Posted for the Area

The National Weather Service has issued a cold weather advisory for the entire broadcast area. Very cold wind chills as low as 20 to 30 below are expected. This includes all of northern and central Iowa along with some areas of southern Iowa. The alert is from 3am Sunday and continues until noon on Sunday.

The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.

Wind chill values may fall to similar levels again on Monday morning and Tuesday morning. As a result, area emergency managers and officials are urging anyone traveling outside to wear appropriate clothing along with a hat and gloves…
