CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Luke Truesdell, charged with killing four people in a rural Linn County garage last summer, will not get his trial moved out of Linn County.
Truesdell appeared in court Jan. 17 when his attorneys argued for his trial to be moved out of the county due to concerns over media coverage.
Truesdell, 34, faces four counts of first-degree murder stemming from the June 2024 incident on East Otter Road. According to the criminal complaint, he attacked four individuals with a metal pipe in a detached garage. Three of the victims—44-year-old Romondus Lamar Cooper, 26-year-old Keonna Victoria Ryan, both of Cedar Rapids, and 33-year-old Amanda Parker of Vinton—were declared dead at the scene.
