If today’s Super Bowl isn’t your speed or you need a dose of cute before hitting the snacks, you can tune in to see six Iowa dogs compete in the 2025 Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet.
All six pups — Cece, Erin, Orla, Gretel, Pizzazz and Zipper — were were previously under the care of AHeinz57 Pet Rescue & Transport based in De Soto. Puppies from the rescue, founded by Amy Heinz, have been featured in the Puppy Bowl since 2012, she told the Des Moines Register.
What is the Puppy Bowl?
The Puppy Bowl is the Super Bowl for dogs. Puppies face off on their own football field in a televised game and “call-to-adoption” event, according to a news release. In the Puppy Bowl’s 21st year, the game will feature 142 puppies from 80 shelters across 40 states and two countries in a three-hour matchup.
What time is the Puppy Bowl?
The Puppy Bowl debuts on Feb. 9 at 1 p.m. CT. A pregame show begins at noon, during which ten puppy prospects from across the country will engage in practice drills and show off their moves in the first-ever Puppy Combine, with each pup competing to join either the Team Ruff or Team Fluff rosters.
Puppy Bowl 21 will air on Animal Planet, Discovery, TBS, truTV and streaming service Max.
