Univ. of Iowa exhibit shows how loved ones remember those lost to substance use disorder

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) – An exhibit at the University of Iowa is telling the stories of Iowans who died from drug overdoses.

A sketched portrait of Zachary Aschoff is one of 32 portraits hanging in the exhibit titled “Drug Addiction: Real People, Real Stories.” A short description of his life accompanies the picture.

He died in 2016 from a heroin overdose. But the exhibit made through Into Light Project focuses more on who he was rather than how they died…
