CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – The tenants of an apartment building in Southwest Cedar Rapids are out of their homes after the city found the building was unlivable.
Now, they’re struggling to find new places to stay.
That apartment building is located on Aossey Lane, just off Hawthorne Drive Southwest.
Cedar Rapids Building Services deemed the building unfit to live in due to sewer problems, as well as missing fire safety equipment, no electricity in some apartments and missing plumbing fixtures. It said the landlord of the property is responsible for these issues, and many of the tenants agree.
