Cedar Rapids looks to rezone casino property to allow for design changes

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Cedar Rapids City Council is looking to rezone the property of the Cedar Crossing Casino & Entertainment Center to allow for changes to the layout and project plans.

The council held a public hearing at last Tuesday’s meeting to change the land from a mixed-use Urban Neighborhood General and Parks and Public Open Space and rezones it into a Planned Unit Development (PUD).

Council documents say the rezoning would make for input to the property’s landscaping, parking lot, among other feedback for the final design, including flood mitigation efforts…
