C is for cookie… and Coralville! Crumbl Cookies has opened another location here in the Corridor, this time in Johnson County.
Last Friday, March 28th, Crumbl Cookies held their official grand opening at 2799 Commerce Dr in Coralville, in the same strip mall as Kohl’s and Famous Footwear. This is the second location here in the Corridor, with the first opening in Cedar Rapids back in late 2021.
Crumbl Cookies got its start in 2017, when co-founders and cousins “Jason McGowan and Sawyer Hemsley teamed up on a quest to bake the perfect chocolate chip cookie.” They opened the very first location in Logan, Utah, and in the years following, the company has continued to grow at a rapid pace. There are now more than 1,000 Crumbl Cookies across the country! According to the Iowa City Press-Citizen, the Coralville Crumbl is owned by Aricka and Michael Hilton, who also own the Crumbl in Dubuque.
The menu at Crumbl Cookies changes on a weekly basis, but they always have one of their chocolate chip varieties available. The Press-Citizen says that they have more than 170 recipes that they choose from, so if you see one that you want to try, you have to get there before the week is up! You never know when it will be back on the menu. Of the ones I’ve tried, my absolute FAVORITE is the Waffle Cookie, but I also love the Peanut Butter Cookies & Cream, Dark Dream, and Dulce de Leche.
According to the Google listing, the new Crumbl in Coralville is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday & Saturday from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. All Crumbl Cookies locations are closed on Sundays so that the crew has “an entire day to rest, recuperate, and spend time with those who matter most,” according to a post from Crumbl on LinkedIn. You can check out this week’s cookie flavors on the official website HERE.
