The owner of land under consideration for rezoning is offering the City of Iowa City the opportunity to purchase it “at fair market value” and develop it as they see fit.
Tracy Barkalow , the head of TSB Holdings, LLC and the owner of several properties and pieces of land in the 900 block of Governor Street, said in an email to the council that a sale to the city “would solve multiple challenges and conflicts between all of us today to the benefit of the City of Iowa City.”
The property is currently home to several rental units, including a single-family home, a duplex and an apartment complex. A listing attached to the email, which was also shared with the Press-Citizen, lists 902-906 Dodge Street, an apartment complex on the west side of the property, for $9 million…
