CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — The Cedar Rapids Community School District announced that City View Community High School will be moving from their location at the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance to Kirkwood Community College Linn County Regional Center.
The district says this will allow them to give students more opportunities, while supporting financial sustainability. The move would help save more than $100,000 between City View and the district’s other program Iowa BIG, which will remain in the Economic Alliance space.
In 2022, the school district was awarded a $14.8 million federal Magnet School Assistance Program grant last year to expand and enhance the magnet school program. Students in grades 10th through 12th, have a non-traditional school day filled with community projects, workshops, classes, job shadows and internships.
