ST PAUL, Minn. — Planned Parenthood union members responded Wednesday to the news that eight Midwestern clinics will close.
The announcement by Planned Parenthood North Central States (PPNCS) on Friday revealed that four Minnesota clinics and four Iowa locations will be shut down due to federal spending cuts. The closings triggered staffing changes resulting in 66 employees being laid off and 37 receiving offers of reassignment over the next year.
Impacted locations are:
- Alexandria Health Center – Alexandria, Minnesota
- Apple Valley Health Center – Apple Valley, Minnesota
- Bemidji Health Center – Bemidji, Minnesota
- Richfield Health Center – Richfield, Minnesota
- Ames Health Center – Ames, Iowa
- Cedar Rapids Health Center – Cedar Rapids, Iowa
- Sioux City Health Center – Sioux City, Iowa
