CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – As construction continues along interstate 380, many truck drivers dread passing through those work zones. They’re looking out for themselves, the road crews, and all other drivers along that stretch.
“People, when they see the truck, they don’t slow down. They’ll come in front even though it’s hard to brake for a trucker. It’s too dangerous,” said Nadeem Ascar.
Having been a truck driver for 11 years now, Ascar does his best to get himself and others to their destination safely. Unfortunately a change in speed along work zones can make that a challenge. With the speed going from 70 to 65, he says he rarely sees people slow down…
