The African American Museum of Iowa will celebrate Juneteenth starting with its annual festival. The festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, at the NewBo City Market in Cedar Rapids. The event will consist of live performances, local businesses, vendors and activities for all. Registration for the coloring contest, sweet potato pie competition or talent show can be completed online. The celebration will continue into the following week when the museum will have extended gallery hours from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday June 19.
