CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – From the heavy gear to long hours, they say it’s impossible for firefighters to know what to expect on any given day. But when you add chemicals into the mix, it becomes even more complicated.
“(It’s) everything from, like, small gasoline spills out of a vehicle all the way up to a large chemical release.” said Cedar Rapids Fire Department’s Hazmat Program Manager, Ben Kurka.
