PATCH program ends after restoring nearly 300 homes in Cedar Rapids following 2020 derecho

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Iowa’s News Now) — A program that worked to help repair homes following the 2020 derecho will end nearly five years after the devastating storm.

The Providing Assistance to Community Homeowners, or PATCH, program was created to help with repairs and financial assistance to those affected by the historic high winds.

Funding for PATCH was possible through the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation, City of Cedar Rapids, Linn County, and United Way of East Central Iowa, totaling over $3.4 million…
