Animal causes power outage in North Liberty and Coralville, affecting 2,500 members

JOHNSON COUNTY, Iowa — Crews are actively responding to a power outage affecting approximately 2,500 members in the North Liberty and Coralville area. The outage was caused by an animal at a substation, resulting in damage to breakers.

The Linn County Rural Electric Cooperative says in a post on Facebook they rerouted power to the affected members as they are work on these repairs and that members may experience a brief interruption once repairs are completed and power is restored to its original state…
