Marion to host public reception for police chief candidates July 9

MARION, Iowa — Community members and business are invited to a public reception on Wednesday, July 9, to meet the four finalists vying to become Marion’s next chief of police. The event will be held at the Lowe Park Arts & Environment Center, 4500 N. 10th Street, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

The candidates include one internal and three external applicants, all of whom will be interviewed to lead the department, which comprises 48 sworn officers, 10 dispatchers, and six civilian employees.
