Mustangs softball win three of four games

Over the weekend, the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs softball team traveled to Marion for the Linn-Mar & Alburnett Softball Tournament. DCG would come out victorious in three out of four games, defeating Durant Wildcats, Johnson Dragons, and Pleasant Valley Spartans. The Mustangs would fall in their final battle 3-2 against the Linn-Mar Lions.

The Mustangs would win both games on Friday defeating Durant 4-3 and Johnston 5-4. Jenah Gray would have an RBI in both games while Genevieve York would have three against the Dragons.

On Saturday, DCG would start the day defeating Pleasant Valley 8-1 as Tessa Jones would have four RBIs and Gray would have two. Kale Montag would take the mound in the 3-2 loss to Linn-Mar, pitching for six innings allowing nine hits, three runs and three strikeouts. Sophia Bauman would have the lone RBI in the only loss for the Mustangs…
