Linn-Mar brothers’ invention helps pilots stay safe, brings family duo closer together

MARION, Iowa (KCRG) – Emerson and Parker Gasper, twin brothers, are ready to take off after a final project joined their passions.

The two recently graduated from Linn-Mar High School and had to work together to complete a testing final project. They were tasked with finding a problem and engineering a solution. Emerson, with a lifelong interest in flying, joined forces with his brother to engineer a device that can detect ice forming on an airplane’s wings.

Their creation was a product of hours of work outside of school spent 3D printing, wiring, coding and having to deal with each other…
