CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – We are hot and dry for the Fourth of July, but shower and storm chances return over the weekend.
Lows tonight fall into the upper 60s and low 70s. Showers and storms diminish by midnight, leaving us mostly clear to partly cloudy overnight.
The Fourth of July is expected to be hot and muggy, with highs in the upper 80s and low to mid 90s and dew points in the low to mid 70s. This will push heat index values into the middle and upper 90s, so be sure to stay hydrated and take frequent breaks if you’re spending time outside. Also consider moving outdoor activities to the morning or evening to avoid the hottest part of the day. Skies are mostly sunny throughout the day and we remain mostly clear for any fireworks shows Friday night as lows fall into the upper 60s and low 70s.
