CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – A new program aims to highlight the efforts of veterans who may not have received the recognition they deserve.
Hanging out at the Freedom Foundation office is where you can often times find Roger Jensen, playing cribbage with veterans. It’s a chance to connect with others, but also a place of therapy for those who served like he did.
“In the past, I had a lot of one-on-ones with vets that were really messed up, and it was a privilege to be able to sit down,” said Jensen. “I always had to remind them that I was not a counselor, but I knew the story so well, it wasn’t hard to be counselling.”…
