CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – A mild & muggy day ahead of us with storm chances looming in the distance.

Much like yesterday, we’ll see plenty of dry time and sunshine, but it will temperatures will be slightly higher and a bit more humidity in the air as well.

Clouds will slowly build throughout the evening and into the overnight as a disturbance in the atmospheric flow moves in from the west. This leads to a risk for some showers and storms near or after daybreak, potentially affecting your Wednesday morning commute. A stronger storm can’t be fully ruled out during that time frame, either.

A chance for stronger to potentially severe storms is also present by late morning into the afternoon, but it will depend on the timing of this disturbance. If it arrives earlier, then the risk for stronger storms will be to our east and south as the heating of the day builds up. If it is a little later, then parts of the TV9 viewing area will be in line for storms developing in an environment conducive to stronger storms…
