CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – You know I love getting kids into the kitchen and during the summer is the perfect time. You’ve got extra time, they need extra activities and extra snacks so let me show you some of my favorite “snack-tivities”.
We’ve got parfaits- these are perfect for any age to help with. Very simple, layer of various fruits, yogurts, maybe try some more unique ingredients like flax seed or shredded coconut. Kids helping in the kitchen often encourages them to try new things, and helps them build overall confidence in the kitchen.
Frozen Fruit Kabobs – Older kids can help chop the fruit. Thread colorful chunks of grapes, kiwi, pineapple and strawberries onto skewers and freeze for a refreshing and hydrating treat.
