CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Those with Cedar Rapids Animal Care and Control say more people are reaching out about volunteering at the shelter. This comes amid issues with staffing shortages caused by burnout and injuries on the job.
It’s been just over a month since Cedar Rapids Police Chief David Dostal posted a letter on social media outlining issues at Cedar Rapids Animal Care and Control. Since then, the city launched a “job-share” program to allow some city employees to work at the shelter.
