Wind gusts of 60-80 mph cause damage, power outages in eastern Iowa early Tuesday morning

A powerful line of storms moved through the Upper Midwest producing winds as high as 100 mph Monday night into Tuesday morning.

In Linn County, the Robins Fire Department reported a gust of 98 mph around 1:30 a.m. Note: The National Weather Service is investigating this report and says the data doesn’t line up with winds that high.
