Groundbreaking ceremony for Cedar Rapids data center cancelled

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – A groundbreaking ceremony for a Cedar Rapids data center has been cancelled Tuesday.

Senior Public Relations Manager Karen Cohen confirmed the event is cancelled following a shooting in New York Monday. The shooting took place at a Manhattan office tower housing Blackstone, the company that owns QTS.

State and local leaders, including Governor Kim Reynolds, were expected to attend the event Tuesday. QTS co-CEOs also planned to attend the ceremony…
