University of Iowa professor accused of misspending nearly $300,000

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) – A University of Iowa professor misspent over $294,000 in grants and other funding for his personal business, according to an investigation by the Iowa Auditor’s Office.

Dr. Calvin Carter, who was placed on paid administrative leave in October 2023, is listed on the University of Iowa’s website as an Assistant Professor of Neuroscience and Pharmacology.
