CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Water levels on the Cedar River are set to crest at 12.5 feet Sunday evening, that’s minor flood stage, but well below the record of 31 feet in 2008.
Since the flood, the city of Cedar Rapids has spent hundreds of millions of dollars on its flood control system.
After 17 years of building the city’s flood control system, it’s only about 35 percent complete. While that might not sound like a lot, some of the places that would flood first are now almost entirely protected…
