CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — The woman charged in Cedar Rapids’ only homicide case of 2024 has been handed a 20-year prison sentence.
Charmisha Pirtle was originally charged with second-degree murder, which comes with a life prison sentence, but took a deal to plead guilty to voluntary manslaughter and willful injury in the death of Anthony Fitts.
