CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Two Cedar Rapids pastors said they want to find a way to continue the work of the recently dissolved Citizen Review Board. The group once intended to hold police accountable.
The board came about in 2021 as a direct result of local protests over the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis by police. A state law was passed this year to keep these boards from reviewing officer conduct.
