A Waterloo man has been sentenced to five years in federal prison for his role in a drug conspiracy.
Thirty-year-old Adis Vretenarevic was sentenced Monday (8/18) in Cedar Rapids after pleading guilty earlier this year to conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance. Prosecutors say between August of 2022 and January of 2024, Vretenarevic helped distribute large amounts of marijuana in the Waterloo area and deposited thousands of dollars in drug proceeds into a bank account connected to the operation.
