A call for stricter regulations to curb high drug prices

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Eastern Iowans shared the pain of the high cost for prescription drugs by showing up to a town hall hosted in Cedar Rapids on Tuesday. It’s an eight-city town hall tour with Iowa being the fifth stop, at the beginning of the town hall organizers said more than 100 people showed up to talk about their experiences with prescription drug prices.

Emma Nemecek was one of the attendees and she was there to hear how others are dealing with this issue especially, since her husband’s medication costs are high.

“We’re on fixed income and I try to kind of cut down on a lot of things. Because, I don’t want him to die, you know. I want him to stay alive,” Nemecek said…
