St. Wenceslaus Church experiences burglary in wake of Catholic school shooting in Minnesota

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – The St. Wenceslaus parish offices were broken into overnight between Wednesday and Thursday, with items such as rosaries stolen from the building.

Rev. Aaron Junge, the pastor of St. Wenceslaus and Immaculate Conception in Cedar Rapids, said the burglary felt like “an echo” following the violence last Wednesday at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis.

However, Father Junge does not think the burglary was religiously motivated due to the nature of the items stolen. He said perhaps the rosaries were taken because they resemble jewelry…
