Davenport, Iowa — An Iowa City man has been sentenced to 27 months in federal prison for being a felon in possession of ammunition, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced this week.
According to court documents, Alfred Washington Jr., 46, was found with ammunition in May 2024 during a search of his Iowa City residence. Investigators recovered a receipt for shooting accessories and discovered videos on Washington’s phone showing him at a gun range.
Washington is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition due to prior felony convictions, including a 2018 conviction for being a felon and domestic abuser in possession of a firearm in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Iowa…
