The Iowa Finance Authority (IFA) recently awarded more than $1.3 million to help homelessness prevention efforts in every county in Iowa.
The Shelter House located in Iowa City that serves Johnson and Washington counties received $104,000. The Muscatine Center for Social Action in Muscatine, which covers Cedar, Muscatine, Louisa, Henry, Des Moines, and Lee counties also received $104,000.
The funding comes through the new Iowa Homelessness Prevention Fund (IHPF) and aims to help hundreds of Iowans at-risk of homelessness.
