CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Hundreds came together Saturday for the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s, which was held this year at a new location — Kingston Yard in Cedar Rapids.
The walk is the largest event in the country dedicated to Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. Participants took part in the Promise Garden Ceremony, holding colorful flowers that symbolized their personal connection to the disease. Purple, yellow, blue, and orange flowers each represented a different reason why people walk to fight Alzheimer’s.
