Draper Park Ribbon Cutting Happening on September 22

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is planned for Monday, Sept. 22, at 4 p.m. along the Grant Wood Trail to mark the completion of Draper Park. This new pocket park is located south of the American Legion (625 31st Street) and honors Marion’s railroad history. The park is named in honor of former Councilmember Paul Draper, who was a tireless advocate for the community, a champion of Marion’s progress and a leader in preserving the city’s railroad history. Special thanks to our City departments working diligently to bring the space online, particularly the Parks and Recreation Department.
