Cyclists ride for sustainability in Cedar Rapids’ first Barn to Farm Bike Ride

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Dozens of cyclists hit the trails early Saturday morning for the inaugural Barn to Farm Bike Ride, hosted by Indian Creek Nature Center.

The 36-mile round-trip ride set out from the Nature Center’s historic barn on Otis Road SE and wound through Cedar Rapids, Hiawatha, and onto the Cedar Valley Nature Trail before arriving at Etzel Sugar Grove Farm in Marion.

Along the way, riders experienced a mix of dirt paths, city streets, and paved trails before being greeted at the farm with a fresh, locally sourced breakfast featuring organic eggs from the farm’s pasture-raised chickens…
