CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Cedar Rapids police say they are seeing positive developments in crime statistics in September including declines in burglary reports.
CRPD releases a snapshot of crime numbers each month. They look at homicide, aggravated assault, burglary, vehicle theft, theft from vehicles and shots fired.
“Shots-fired events remain at historic lows. September did produce one new homicide, bringing the total for 2025 to three events,” the report says. “This is the first non-family shooting fatality in the city since October 2023.”…
