“Impactful tradition” raises record amount to help eastern Iowa nonprofits

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – The Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance considers the “volunteer-driven beverage tents” at the annual Market After Dark to be one of the event’s “most impactful traditions.”

Now they say those tents raised a record amount for local nonprofits.

Metro Economic Alliance says they saw a record 35,200 people attend the event on August 23, and gave $6,815 in tips at those events, which in turn go straight to the nonprofits…
