If your dog can handle wearing a Halloween costume for more than 30 seconds, then join us for Dog-O-Ween at Theisen’s this month! Here’s everything you need to know about this year’s competitions:
Where/When is it?
In 2025, two Corridor Theisen’s locations will be hosting Dog-O-Ween. Brain is set to MC the competition at the Cedar Rapids store at 1800 51st St NE, and I (Courtlin) will be at the Coralville store at 100 Westcor Dr.
Dog-O-Ween will take place at both locations on Sunday, October 26th at 3 p.m., with registration beginning at 1 p.m.
How much does it cost?
To enter your pup in the competition, the cost is $10 per dog, with the proceeds benefitting a local humane society. Anybody that participates will receive a goodie bag and a Theisen’s coupon just for signing up.
How does the contest work?
There are actually two different categories dogs can compete in at Dog-O-Ween. There’s ‘Best Dog Costume,’ which is just for the dogs, and there’s ‘Best Dog & Person Costume,’ which is when the owners dress up WITH their pets. The two categories will be judged separately.
Quick tip – people get really creative for this competition, so your standard hot dog costume (although adorable!) isn’t going to cut it! If you’re in it to win it, you and your pup will need to bring the heat!…
