Eastern Iowa Airport launches food drive to support federal workers amid government shutdown

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – The Eastern Iowa Airport (CID) is launching a food drive to help TSA and FAA employees during the government shutdown.

The airport is asking the community for donations to support federal workers affected by the shutdown and SNAP benefit uncertainty.

Needed items include:

  • Non-perishable foods and paper goods:
  • Canned vegetables
  • Soups
  • Pasta
  • Rice
  • Peanut butter
  • Shelf-stable milk
  • Toilet paper
  • Paper towels
  • Gift cards from grocery stores or gas stations:
  • Kwik Star
  • Casey’s
  • Kum & Go

TSA items can be brought to the Guest Services Info Desk in Terminal B and C. FAA donations go to the Public Safety Building at 3020 Lippisch Place, SW…
