SWISHER, Iowa (KCRG) – The Swisher Community Library opened a new, larger pantry box to provide refrigerated food to community members in need.
Librarian Laura Hoover says she saw a need for pantry services about five years ago – so the library put a small wooden box outside for basics like pasta and rice.
“It very quickly turned into other things,” said Hoover. “We soon realized we needed a way to do some electric to do milk and fresh fruit and that kind of thing.”…
